With OJS, editorial teams can manage the entire editorial flow: submission, reviewing of articles, choice of reviewers, layout&#8230; Created in 2001 by <a href=\"https:\/\/pkp.sfu.ca\/\"><u>PKP<\/u><\/a>, OJS is written in PHP and uses MariaDB or PostgreSGL databases. OJS can be installed on a Unix or Windows server.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PKP<\/h2>\n\n<p>PKP means Public Knowledge Project. Founded in 1998 by John Willinsky, PKP aims to improve the quality of research by offering various open source tools: <a href=\"https:\/\/pkp.sfu.ca\/ocs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Open ConferenceSystems<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pkp.sfu.ca\/ojs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Open JournalsSystems<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pkp.sfu.ca\/ohs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Open HarvesterSystems<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pkp.sfu.ca\/omp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Open MonographPress<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pkp.sfu.ca\/ops\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Open PreprintSytems<\/u><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tutorials<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Documentation<\/h3>\n\n<p>PKP has written and translated a comprehensive illustrated documentation, available in <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.pkp.sfu.ca\/learning-ojs\/en\/\"><u>English<\/u><\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.pkp.sfu.ca\/learning-ojs\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>French<\/u><\/a>, in order to master the different functionalities of OJS.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Videos<\/h3>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>For a first approach<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Montreal has posted <a href=\"https:\/\/bib.umontreal.ca\/gerer-diffuser\/libre-acces\/soutien-revues-savantes\/ojs\/?tab=3236\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>some introductory videos<\/u><\/a> to the editorial chain in OJS, in French. Their <a href=\"https:\/\/bib.umontreal.ca\/gerer-diffuser\/libre-acces\/soutien-revues-savantes\/ojs\/?tab=3367\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>FAQ<\/u><\/a> is also very interesting and full of useful tips for journal editors. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>For a complete training<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>PKP has posted <a href=\"https:\/\/pkpschool.sfu.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>many very detailed videos<\/u><\/a> on how to use OJS. Classes are in English with French subtitles. To access the courses, simply create a free account.
